Tigressa Carpet Is "Unbelievably" Soft

by Blog Master on 03/09/12

After hearing my customers brag about how soft their new Tigressa Carpet. I had to try it for myself. So about a week ago I had the Tigressa Chariton installed in my family room, I am hooked! The Charition Style is expensive. It runs in the $4.62 - $5.00 sf range but if you have the money it is well worth the cost. However if you do not want to spend that much but still want to experience Tigressa then take a look at the Tigressa Arlee which will run from $2.75 - $4.00 sf depending on the length and thickness of the carpet that your select.

I got the freize which is the new version of the shag carpet and it is absolutely lovely and unbelievably soft. I love walking on it with my shoes off. Not only do I enjoy it but my wife and children do to. As a matter of fact, just like me, my wife cannot stop talking about it to all of her friends and family.

The Tigressa SoftStyle is a new line from Shaw Industries, one of the largest carpet manufactures in the world. Shaw has plants located in North Georgia. The Tigressa line is made from a precision-engineered, high-tensiled filaments that are half the size of human hair for ultra soft texture. It also has dense, resilient super strong fibers that allows it to show less matting, crushing and wear. As an added bonus it also an environmentally safe Green carpet.

If you are in the market for new carpet or want to give your home or room a face-lift, you have to see the Tigressa SoftStyle. Make an appointment to see it today by logging onto our site at www.daltoncarpetsofga.com/Online-Appointment.html

Benefits of New Carpet

by Blog Master on 03/08/12

Recently I had new carpet installed in my family room and I must confess that it has changed the entire atmosphere of my room. First let me tell you that the carpet that was replaced was a builder's grade carpet with lots of stains from my kids, wife, dog, visitors and maybe even me.

The old carpet had gotten so bad that having it clean only kept the stains away for a day or two. I would always be embarrassed when we would have a visitor because I didn't want them to see the carpet stains.

Now let's fast forward to today. The room is fabulous. The only thing that we changed was the carpet and it has changed the whole atmosphere of the room. It's more calming, feel and looks cleaner and I'm even excited to show my new carpet off to my guest.

I can truly say that this new carpet has changed the way I feel about my home and spending time in my family room.I've come up with three benefits of having my new carpet has given me; 1). The room looks and feels clean. 2). I feel more relaxed and calm now that I have new carpet and 3).  I have fallen in love with my home again.

When you replace your carpet, I recommend that you don't just replace it with any carpet but upgrade your carpet from what you currently have and watch it change your home's atmosphere.

3 Things To Know This Year About Buying Carpet

by Blog Master on 02/23/12

Discounted Mohawk Carpet

With the economy getting better and home values still way below what they were pre-recession, homeowners are choosing to stay in their home and make some cosmetic changes. One relative easy and quick change that homeowners can do to change the look and feel of their home in one day is replace their carpet.

So if you are in the mindset to give your home a face lift, there are three things that you need to know this year (2012) when considering changing your carpet.

1. Carpet Mills Have Less Carpet On-hand
The reason that this is important is because of planning. The carpet mills have
closed some of their plants thus eliminating some carpet styles and decrease the
amount of inventory that they keep on hand. This is important for the carpet
purchaser when planning their project. In other words, start your shopping early.

2. Carpet Is A Petroleum Product
Need I say more? We see the cost of gas rising weekly and the media is
projecting that the cost of gasoline will be over $4 per gallon by this summer.
I say this to say that with the rise of petroleum come the rise of carpet prices. If
you are planning on replacing your carpet, now is the time to buy .before prices
increase

3. Carpet Manufactures Are Offering Better Warranties
Over the last couple of years, we've seen carpet warranties increase from an
average of 5-10 years to 15-20 years. The obvious question is...Is carpet being
made better? The quick answer is yes. The carpet manufactures have made some
advances in carpet manufacturing which allows carpet that is propertly maintain
last longer. For more information on warranties check our link at Carpet
Warranties Uncovered.

Is Carpet Padding More Important Than The Carpet?

by Blog Master on 02/07/12

If I have heard it once, I've heard it a thousand times from my customers..."carpet padding is more important that the carpet I buy". I will attempt to answer that question for you today but first let me start by giving you a little background on carpet padding sometimes referred to a carpet cushion.

Carpet padding was place under area rugs for additional comfort and insulation. As carpet became more popular in the 30s - 50s the inherent thermal qualities started to be recognized. Soon the carpet manufactures discovered that not only did carpet padding offer comfort, insulation and thermal values it could also help preserve the carpet itself.

So back to the initial question. Is carpet padding more important than the carpet? The answer is "NO" but not too fast. Carpet padding is very important because it helps retain your carpet's appearance and texture. If you have an old  padding or padding that is too soft it can adversely affect the performance of the carpet as well as void the manufactures warranty on the carpet.

When choosing a carpet it is very important to choose a carpet that will perform the way that you expect it to but it is also important to choose a padding that properly support the carpet that you purchase.

"Are you kidding Me?" Animals Test Carpet

by Blog Master on 01/31/12

I don't know if you caught this story last year but Mohawk Industries came out with a new green carpet that claimed it could withstand live animals and hold it's look, feel and retention.

So from October 7-21, 2010, Mohawk conducted the "Smartstrand Zoo Challenge". What was Mohawk thinking...

Mohawk states that everyday the carpet in your home must withstand the rigors of children, pets, spills and constant foot traffic. Homeowners rave about the durability and resiliency of Smartstrand with DuPont Sorona renewable sourced polymer carpet- but will animals love it just as much? To prove that Smartstrand is the choice for your household, Mohawk put this carpet up against the largest land mammals on the planet- the African elephant! Mohawk says if Smartstrand can handle this challenge and come out victorious then it should be able to handle your wild life!

I'm not going to let the cat out of the bag but watch the video to see how the challenge came out.
